Kaela Humphries Signs With Ford Modeling Agency
The sister of New Jersey Nets' Kris Humphries, Kaela Humphries, has agreed to model for Ford Models' plus-size division.
"The division that brought you Crystal Renn, Ashley Graham, Candice Huffine and Marquita Pring among others is excited at the prospect of bringing this beautiful, engaging young woman to markets worldwide," the agency said in a press release. "A true size 16-18, Kaela will be in a league of her own."
Humphries has some modeling and catwalk experience when she previously worked for Wilhemina Models. She was on the catwalk last fall during a Richie Rich show which was part of New York's Fashion Week, according to The New York Post.
During that particular event there were several rumors swirling around that her brother's marriage to Kim Kardashian was in despair. Humphries attended that show to support his sister, but according to Page Six, Kim did attend the event.
"Kim and her sisters were supposed to come and sit front-row. But there were three empty seats," reported the publication.
But that won't discourage Humphries, who expressed her excitement on Twitter. "So excited to be working with the team @fordmodels ! This is going to be a great 2012! Stay tuned:)"
Like Kardashian, Humphries got some face time on a reality TV show. She appeared on The CW show "Remodeled" in January where experts helped small modeling agencies.
There are some in the fashion industry who are concerned that the negative image that surrounded her brother might spill over onto her career as well.
A poll that was released before the start of the NBA's lockout-shortened 2011-12 season revealed that of the people surveyed the majority disliked Humphries more than any other player in the league.
Humphries signed a one-year; $8 million contract with the Nets in December is averaging 13.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game this season.
