After Baier played a Trump campaign ad featuring a clip during the 2020 campaign in which Harris expressed support for taxpayer-funded trans procedures for inmates and detained illegal immigrants, Harris dodged his question regarding whether she still adhered to that controversial position.

"I will follow the law, and it’s a law that Donald Trump actually followed," she responded, in an apparent reference to a recent New York Times story that a small number of federal inmates received such procedures under the Trump administration.
"I think, frankly, that ad from the Trump campaign is a little bit of throwing stones when you’re living in a glass house," she added. "You have to take responsibility for what happened in your administration."
Harris also accused the Trump campaign of attempting to instill fear in voters with their ad featuring her own words on the issue.
