Kanye West Scandal: Leyla Ghobadi Backtracks, Denies Rapper Cheated on Kim Kardashian
Leyla Ghobadi, the woman who recently claimed to have had an affair with Kanye West, reportedly retracted her story on Thursday after the rapper publicly denied her claims.
On Wednesday the Canadian model, 24, made explosive claims about West, 36, which sparked reports of an affair between the pair. Kim Kardashian, who is expecting a child with West, and the rapper separately denied Ghobadi's claims and within hours she changed her story.
"I was introduced to him at the Montreal concert. We met backstage as I knew members of his band... He then flew some friends and I out to Toronto for his two concerts in the next two days," Ghobadi told The Sun UK.
The model initially claimed to have had a tryst with the "New Slaves" rapper before and after Kardashian, 32, announced her pregnancy in 2013. On Thursday, however, she claimed that she and West were involved in 2011, before his relationship with the reality TV star even began.
"This was all before Kim Kardashian and he never spoke about her. But what I do know is that Kanye is a Romeo — he can never be trusted," Ghobadi explained.
On Wednesday a representative for West dismissed Ghobadi's "attack" as a desperate attempt to garner publicity. The affair report was initially featured in Star magazine.
"This most recent attack on Kanye West and his family is totally without merit. It's a blatant attempt by a misguided individual who is clearly seeking publicity, and another in a series of malicious stories drummed up by non-credible 'news' sources," a rep for West said in a statement obtained by TMZ.com.
"This is a sad attempt to hurt two people trying to live their lives," the statement went on.
Kardashian and West first began dating in 2012 shortly after the E! Star filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Kris Humphries.
In January 2013 Kardashian announced that she and West were expecting a child, and in recent weeks it was revealed that they are expecting a baby girl in July.
