Kate Middleton, Duchess Camilla, Queen: 'Like Kids in A Candy Store'
Kate Middleton, Duchess Camilla, and Queen Elizabeth hit Fortnum & Mason dressed in blue and ready to shop. Arriving at the shop front in a Bentley, the three women stepped out in matching hues, Camilla in navy, her Majesty in eggshell blue, and Duchess Kate in teal.
The outing marked the first public duty outing of the Diamond Jubilee, which is in celebration of the Queen's 50th Birthday.
"Kate, 30, Camilla, 64, and Elizabeth, 85, were like three girls in, well, a candy store!" People magazine reported.
Middleton went straight for the "naughty counter" which was filled with chocolates, according to a source with the magazine.
"Oh, I love chocolate. Yes. I think most girls like chocolate," she confessed to one of the staff members.
Camilla, who is the wife of Prince Charles, preferred a bag of jelly beans. "What a treat!" she commented while handling a bag of the gourmet styled gooey candy.
Although Middleton let herself go while shopping, the source also revealed that the new Duchess still seemed a bit intimidated by the Queen.
"Kate was standing by Camilla the whole time, making sure not to get in the way of the Queen. She seemed a little quieter than usual, taking lead from Camilla the whole time," the source told People.
Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, also hosted a reception for women in the media in honor of the Women of the World festival on Tuesday at Clarence House. Fans appeared far more supportive of the "refreshing" Kate however, which may be why some have reported that Duchess Camilla has made a few Kate-like fashion decisions.
"Is Duchess Camilla copying the style of another famous duchess: her daughter-in-law Kate Middleton?" Huffington Post asked, pointing out that her t-shirt dress and budget pick seemed very Kate-esque.
"Kate is simply gorgeous. Camilla is as the British say utterly ghastly," Rose Trinity wrote on the People blog.
