Kelly Rowland Speaks Up About Defying Grammy Wardrobe Restrictions
Kelly Rowland, 32, recently spoke about attending the 55th annual Grammy awards in a revealing outfit after entertainers received a warning about showing excess skin at the event.
Rowland attended the event in a black Georges Chakra Couture dress that some deemed racy. Deadline.com posted an email sent by CBS networks that warned guests at the show from wearing outfits that were too revealing.
"CBS Program Practices advises that all talent appearing on camera please adhere to Network policy concerning wardrobe. Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic," the alleged email from CBS obtained by deadline.com reads. "Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure."
The singer called the restrictions set in place by the network funny, while arriving at the award show in a revealing outfit and serving as a presenter at the event.
"It's so funny! I thought about the dress code and thought about it again, and that's about it," Rowland said in a Us Weekly report. "I respect. See, I wore clothes!"
A number of other people thought Rowland's dress was one of the best choices of the night.
"Kelly Rowland... dress of the night," one person questioned on Twitter.
Caroline Manzo, reality television personality from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, thought Rowland's dress did not adhere to the Grammy award wardrobe restrictions.
"Kelly Rowland is a sweetheart and looks great - she obviously did NOT get the #Grammy memo," Manzo tweeted after watching the show.
