Kids' Choice Awards 2012, Justin Bieber Slimed (VIDEO)
Celebrities who got glammed up for the 2012 Kids' Choice award believing that they were safe from the green slime were mistaken. Among those who got doused in green goo were Justin Bieber and even the show's host, Will Smith.
Will Smith hosted the 25th Annual Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday night. The less formal awards ceremony appeared to encourage some fans to try for a bold- or in some cases even bolder- look. Kids' Choice is of course, also famous for it's gooey green slime attacks.
Before the slime even poured down, Katy Perry arrived on the orange carpet in a slime inspired dress. The singer wore all neon green with a top that appeared as though it had already been hit by goo. She matched the outfit with neon hills and a long purple and blue ponytail.
Perry took the stage later on in the show to perform one of her latest hits, "Part of Me."
Other stars also rocked bright hues. Kristen Stewart wore royal blue, Willow Smith donned pink hair, and Nina Dobrev showed off a bright coral suit.
While other shows are all about the golden trophies, according to Will Smith, Nickelodeon has chosen a different way to honor their stars, and that means that everyone is a target.
"No one is safe from the slime!" yelled Smith. "You have to earn the slime! It's an honor."
The favorite slime of the night may have come when teen pop idol Justin Bieber got a healthy serving of green slime. The moment fulfilled Smith's prophecy as both celebrities were soaked with the green liquid.
Kids' Choice Awards is unique in that the awards are selected by the kids themselves. For the 2012 ceremony, over 220 million votes were cast during the month of March. Jake Short won favorite TV Actor and Selena Gomez took home the award for favorite TV Actress.
"SpongeBob SquarePants" was voted as the favorite cartoon, and Katy Perry won a blimp for her voiceover in an animated film. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez celebrated as a couple when both won favorite male and female singer.
