For weeks, fans have speculated whether or not the Hollywood stars, who are expecting a child in July, are still a couple due to West's prolonged absence. While the pair's reunion suggests that their relationship is still intact, a source claims there is one particular reason that West, 35, has been avoiding Kardashian, 31.
"He doesn't want to appear on 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' and being out of the country made that impossible," a source told RadarOnline.com of Kardashian's reality TV show.
West's camp has reportedly advised the rapper, who has been working in Paris since February, to stop appearing on Kardashian's hit reality TV show. He was featured on the show in season seven.
"Kanye did appear on the show several times before he and Kim hooked up but that was because he was trying to get with her. Now that he has her, Kanye wants nothing to do with the reality shows," the source revealed.
"He most likely won't appear at all in the upcoming season of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians.' Kanye won't even let Kim talk to him on the phone while cameras are rolling. Kanye wants to maintain his private life," the insider added.
In March it was claimed that the "Mercy" rapper had suffered a popularity decline. He appeared to blame this partially on his association with Kardashian after it was reported that he was beginning to distance himself from her.
"They don't like Givenchy Kanye. They don't like Kanye in a kilt, they don't like Kanye in a relationship," West vented to New York radio station Hot 97, referring to his critics.
In January, E-Poll Senior Director of Marketing and Communications Randy Parker claimed Kardashian, who is six months along in her pregnancy, had affected West's reputation.
"He was starting to bounce back from [the 2009 VMA incident with Taylor Swift]. There does appear to there is some sort of fallback or blowback from him hooking up with Kim," Parker told the Huffington Post.
"One of the things we measure is an attribute called 'Overexposed.' We find that people use it as a general way of saying, 'I've had it with you, You've just gone a little too far,'" he explained, adding, "I'm guessing his overexposed score is quite high."
