Kim Kardashian Wedding Diet: E! Star Using Atkins to Lose 5 Pounds
Kim Kardashian is reportedly on the Atkins diet in a bid to shed pounds before her upcoming wedding to Kanye West.
The reality TV star, 33, is said to be on a quest to lose at least five pounds before her May 24 wedding. She is reportedly on a strict diet and has added grueling workouts to her daily routine in order to achieve her weight loss goals.
"[Kim] is still losing more every week. She wants to look the best she possible can for her wedding photos," a source told Us magazine.
"She'll eat veggies, but no noodles, rice or bread," the source continued. "It shocks her body. It's the only way to get the weight off."
The Atkins Diet is a low-carbohydrate diet which consists of lean protein, fruits and vegetables and healthy fats such as nuts and avocados. The 5-foot-3 star is said to be a fan of Pilates and squats.
"She does 100 squats each morning to lift her booty," the insider said.
Kardashian, who will marry West before family and friends in Paris next month, previously opened up about the Atkins diet following the June birth of her first child North West.
"[The Atkins diet] really trained me not to eat so many carbs. I used to eat so many carbs, and now I don't," she told E! News.
"I mean, as you get older and your body changes, you just can't eat the way you used to. So I'm training myself and I work out," she explained.
West, 36, proposed to the reality TV star in October and the Hollywood couple will wed in a televised ceremony in coming weeks.
"E! plans on airing Kim and Kanye's wedding as a two-part special," another source told HollywoodLife.com. "The event is way too important to only broadcast on Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
Kardashian recently spoke about her big day and insisted that contrary to reports the wedding will be relatively small.
"We're having a super, super small, intimate wedding. As we go along, we're realizing we want it to be smaller and more intimate than people are imagining and thinking," Kardashian told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show on Feb. 25.
