Kim Kardashian's Stepfather Not 'Excited' About Kanye West Relationship
Kim Kardashian's step-father, Bruce Jenner, has spoken out about her relationship with boyfriend Kanye West; reportedly indicating that he likes the rapper but is not "excited" about the couple's newly-found romance.
"I'm not that excited, but we'll see. Kimberly and I have had a conversation about them and their potential relationship," Jenner recently said at a speaking engagement at Northeastern University in Boston Wednesday night.
Jenner, a former Olympic track and field athlete, has expressed concern that Kardashian, who is still legally married to Kris Humphries, may be rushing her relationship with West, 34, and is urging the reality TV personality to be "careful," according to TMZ.
The news comes just days after Kardashian's sister, Khloe Kardashian-Odom, spoke fondly about her romance with West and follows reports that mother, Kris Jenner, believes that their relationship is a great idea.
"Honestly, we've known Kanye forever. He's been a great family friend. I love Kanye. I think they're cute together. I think friendship is where good relationships stem from," Kardashian-Odom told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
Kris, who married 62-year-old Jenner in 1991, is said to be happy about Kardashian's new relationship with West as she believes that his celebrity status is more on par with her daughter's, according to Radar Online.
"Kris is thrilled about Kim's new romance with Kanye. She loves that they're together and thinks Kanye is a huge step up for Kim after her marriage to Kris Humphries," a source told Radar.
"Dating Kanye puts Kim in a whole new stratosphere. Kris was just a basketball player making a few million dollars a year, but Kanye is a world-wide multi-millionaire superstar. His money and fame are all going to benefit Kim now and she's going to have all the perks of being his girlfriend, and her mom thinks this is going to be great for her own career," the source materialistically added.
Kardashian, 31, was recently asked about her relationship with West during an appearance on NBC's "Today" show.
"I completely respect and understand that you have to ask these questions, but I've said before, Kanye and I have been friends for years. You know, you never know what the future holds or where my life will take me," Kardashian told "Today" host Ann Curry.
