Kirstie Alley Weight Loss Dance Challenge to Fans Will Last 100 Days
Kirstie Alley, who has become a notable weight-loss spokesperson and trendsetter after dealing with weight issues for many years, has called on fans to join her for 100 consecutive days of dancing.
It appears that Alley made the decision to drop 100 pounds in March after taking a lot of criticism for her “Dancing With The Stars” appearance and trying to compete with an unshapely figure, Celebs Gatherer reported. The “Cheers” actress went on a “healthy new diet and strict exercise regimen” which has made a huge difference in her life.
Sharing plans about her dancing campaign, she said: "I'm trying to start a grass-roots movement and I hope you all join in. I'm doing a hundred days of dance, starting on January 1. What you do is you join in, and whether you dance for 30 minutes or an hour, you dance for 100 consecutive days."
The plan is modeled after the recommended 30 minutes of daily exercise doctors recommend, but Alley hopes that turning that into half an hour (or more) of dancing may make it more fun for people and inspire them to join in.
She also knows that it might be easy for some to skip out on dates during the 100-day challenge, and promised she would provide proof of her own participation:
"And I'll video myself dancing, like, for five or 10 minutes, and I'll hold a newspaper up so that you can see the date... so you know I'm not cheating. I want everybody in the world to join in on this. It's a fun way to stay fit."
Another famous actress, Kelly Preston, has expressed her happiness with Ally’s weight-loss program regime, saying that it helped her lose 39 pounds. She told People Magazine: “I have more energy than I had 20 years ago - and I feel amazing."
