Kobe Bryant, Vanessa Call Off Divorce Proceedings: 'We Have Reconciled'
Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa confirmed their reconciliation Friday, over one year after she filed for divorce.
In a statement recently posted on Vanessa's Instagram page, the couple confirmed that they managed to salvage their 10-year marriage and have subsequently ended their divorce proceedings, according to TMZ.com
"We are pleased to announce that we have reconciled. Our divorce action will be dismissed. We are looking forward to our future together," the couple said in their statement.
Vanessa, who cited "irreconcilable differences" in her divorce filing, reportedly moved toward ending the marriage after growing tired of 33-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star's numerous infidelities.
Carla Dibello, who works as a producer on E! reality shows "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and "Kourtney and Kim Take New York," was identified as being the other woman in Kobe's alleged affair by several media outlets, although these reports were never confirmed.
The motive behind their reconciliation has not yet been revealed, although critics suspect that their two daughters Natalia Diamante Bryant, 9, and Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant, 5, likely played a ole. Their reconciliation has finally dispelled rumors that the former dancer, 29, strategically waited for her troubled marriage to reach its 10 year mark for financial gain.
Since the pair did not have a prenuptial agreement, Vanessa would have automatically been entitled to 50 percent of Bryant's assets, and as a result her former step father previously suggested that she was a gold digger.
"Her mother taught her well to wait for the ten-year mark (before divorcing])," Vanessa's former step-father Stephen Laine previously told TMZ. "In California ... it's considered a long-term marriage and then she gets paid for life or until she remarries ... just like her mother is doing to me!"
