Korie Robertson Encourages Christians to Never Be 'Bullied' Out of Their Faith
Korie Robertson, a star on the hit A&E reality show "Duck Dynasty," says she's proud of her Christian faith, and encourages other Christians to stand up for their beliefs, even when "bullies" try to stop them from doing so.
Robertson was describing how her faith sustains herself and her family in a recent interview, saying that while her success, fame and riches are temporal, her faith is eternal. "God and our faith is what sustains us," Robertson told Fox411's "Faith & Fame" segment. "It's what makes our life good."
Robertson, who was also accompanied in the interview by her husband Willie, went on to say that she and her family don't plan on backing down from expressing their faith any time soon and they encourage other Christians to defend their faith in the face of adversity.
"Don't let someone bully you into not standing up for your beliefs," Korie said.
Willie and Korie will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming film "God's Not Dead," playing themselves as they defend their faith to a reporter who questions their Christianity. Willie said in a recent interview with The Christian Post that working on the film inspired and strengthened his own Christian faith.
The film follows a student who accepts his professor's challenge to prove the existence of God.
"I was very impressed with how they made the movie," Robertson told The Christian Post last week. "I would definitely say my own faith was strengthened – I was glad to be on the side of the kid defending his faith."
Many members of the Robertson family are unafraid to express their Christian faith. Sadie Robertson, daughter of Willie and Korie, recently told Fox411 in a separate interview that she and her family first began the "Duck Dynasty" reality show to "get the message of God out there."
"It just takes one person to take a stance and begin doing something different. We think [the show] has done a good job of getting out God's message," Robertson added.
Phil Robertson, Willie's father, has also made a name for himself as a proud Christian, unafraid of those who disagree with his beliefs. The family patriarch received criticism late last year when he told GQ Magazine he thought homosexuality was a sin, and the A&E network even suspended Phil from "Duck Dynasty," only to lift the ban after nine days due to intense public backlash.
Although Phil has not commented publicly on his suspension and subsequent reinstatement to the reality show, he did say in late February that his new book, titled unPHILtered: The Way I See It, should be seen as his official response to the controversy. His book will be released in the fall.
