Laken Riley murder suspect went 'hunting' for women: 5 facts revealed so far from Jose Ibarra's trial
Ibarra’s roommate
Rosbeli Elisbar Flores Bello, one of Ibarra’s roommates, testified on Monday with the help of an interpreter. Flores Bello identified the defendant from the video showing a man throwing the jacket with Riley’s blood on it into a dumpster.
The roommate said during her testimony that she had seen Ibarra wear the jacket before, and she thought it was weird that he threw it away, The Associated Press reported.
Flores Bello also explained that she had met Ibarra in Queens, New York, and later followed him to Georgia when the defendant decided to join his brother Diego, who lived in Athens. Ibarra and his roommate went to the Roosevelt Hotel, repurposed to serve as an intake center for migrants, and asked for a “humanitarian flight” to Georgia.
One of Diego’s friends picked them up when the pair arrived in Atlanta and drove them to Athens, according to the roommate’s testimony.
