Laken Riley murder suspect went 'hunting' for women: 5 facts revealed so far from Jose Ibarra's trial
Suspect’s wife
The court heard a jail phone call on Monday between Ibarra and his wife, Layling Franco, The Independent reported. FBI specialist Abeisis Ramirez testified about the call and translated the conversation from Spanish to English.
During the call, Ibarra’s wife repeatedly asked him what happened with “the girl,” insisting that her husband had to know something about it. The suspect, however, just responded,"'Layling enough, Layling enough.'"
According to Ramirez’s translation, Layling stated that it was “crazy” that the authorities did not have anyone else’s DNA. The wife also questioned how someone could see another person dying and not call 911, asserting that Ibarra must know something.
