Lala Anthony Talks 'Honey Nut Cheerios' Rumor After Kevin Garnett-Carmelo Anthony Spat

Lala Anthony is finally speaking up after rumors swirled concerning an alleged separation from her husband, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, who was engaged in a squabble with Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett recently because of rumored comments made about his wife.

While various media outlets reported that Garnett, 36, told Anthony, 28, that his wife "tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios," fans and media outlets have been speculating about the matter since Monday. However, before the nationally televised Knicks game that aired on Thursday, "Inside The NBA" analysts poked fun of the matter on the network while including a box of Honey Nut Cheerios cereal on the network's program.

Mrs. Anthony, 33, reacted to the matter on Twitter late Thursday, seeming to poke fun of the matter that sparked her husband's anger and resulted in a recent one-game suspension.

"Not for nothing, but we ALL deserve a check or some free cereal for all the publicity we've given Honey Nut Cheerios! LOL," she tweeted. "#cantbelieveeverything."

The Knicks star would not confirm that he felt the need to address Garnett after Monday night's game due to a comment concerning his wife and cereal, but he did admit that his anger stemmed from inappropriate comments that were made by Garnett on the court.

"It's certain things that you just don't say to men, another man," Anthony told the press Tuesday. "I felt that he crossed the line. Like I said, we're both at an understanding right now; we handled it the way we handled it. Nobody needs to know what was said behind closed doors. So that situation is handled."

However, Garnett's coach Doc Rivers came to the 36-year-old player's defense in an interview with Boston radio station WEEI. According to Rivers, Garnett's should not be referred to as the antagonist in the situation since Anthony decided to take an on-court squabble out of Madison Square Garden where he waited for the Celtics player near his bus.

"Well, number one, I know what's been reported did not happen. I know that as a fact," Rivers said. "Guys, you know how this works. A guy does something crazy like Carmelo did, and the way to get out of trouble is to say, 'Well, he said this.' It happens all the time, and, what bugs me about this whole thing is this is not a Kevin Garnett issue. And it was made into one, and it shouldn't have been made into one."
