Lamar Odom Talks Drugs To 7 Year Old
Lamar Odom recently shared a message about drugs with one 7-year-old boy, according to media reports.
Odom, the 33-year-old NBA free agent, recently attended a birthday party in North Hollywood, Calif., where a young boy named Elijah, 7, requested a photograph, according to TMZ reports. Aside from advising the tall boy to possibly pursue basketball, TMZ alleges Odom also reportedly told him, "don't do drugs."
For months, Odom has made headlines for allegedly battling with a drug addiction that he allegedly only checked into a rehabilitation center for one day to treat. However, he denied claims made by TMZ about an alleged addiction to crack cocaine and Oxycontin last month.
Earlier this month, TMZ reported that sources have claimed Odom has tested negative for drug usage after undergoing blood and urine tests. While the publication stated that Odom was going to fly to New York City to meet with basketball personnel about his future in the NBA, he decided to change his mind.
During an outing in Studio City, Calif. last month, Odom made sure to take pictures with fans before TMZ reporters questioned if he was doing ok.
"How do I look," Odom questioned before responding to the reporter who acknowledged that he looked great. "There you go."
When asked if he had a drug problem and needed professional help, the NBA forward simply responded, "nah."
Odom, 33, averaged 4.0 points and 5.9 rebounds in 82 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season. Despite the rumors that have surrounded the basketball player for months, he refused to show signs of stress when approached by reporters.
"Life is good ... life is good you never know," Odom said of his future in the NBA.
Odom's agent, Jeff Schwartz, previously spoke about the athlete's future in the NBA.
"Playing in the NBA is still very much a part of Lamar's plans," Schwartz told ESPN.
