Lauren Scruggs Speaks Out for First Time: 'I Am So So Thankful for You'

Lauren Scruggs spoke directly with her supporters through her website on Monday, emphasizing that she is thankful and overwhelmed by kindness she continues to receive.

While it is her family who have been regularly updating concerned members of the public about the 23-year-old model’s progress since the Dec. 3 propeller accident, it was Scruggs who recently posted a heartfelt statement.

"I don’t know how to thank each one of you, properly, for so much love during this difficult incident in my life. My heart is so grateful beyond what I could ever imagine," Scruggs wrote on lolomag.com.

"So thank you dearly for the sweet encouragements, the precious words in letters and messages, the beautiful grace in pretty presents, but mostly I am so so thankful for you and your loving hearts and sweet spirits," she added.

The former “Gossip Girl” intern was seriously injured after walking into a plane propeller last month.
As The Christian Post previously reported, the model's hand was sliced off in the horrifying accident and she ultimately lost her left eye as a result of the tragedy.

Despite the seriousness of her injuries, Scruggs has made a remarkable recovery and recently stepped out of her hospital bed to briefly visit a local Whole Foods supermarket.

"We had many complete strangers stop us, with tears in their eyes, saying they have been praying for Lo and for our family," Scruggs' mother Cheryl wrote.

“Many have told us how the accident has them seriously thinking about how important God needs to be in their lives, or how it has helped them refocus where they have gotten off track in their spiritual walk," Cheryl added.

The family established the Lauren Scruggs Hope Fund, which has reportedly raised close to $15,000 and will likely go towards Scruggs' medical bills.
