Leah Messer Pregnant; 'Teen Mom 2' Star Confirms 'New Addition'
"Teen Mom 2" star Leah Messer, now Leah Calvert, has confirmed that she is pregnant with a third child. The popular reality star is thrilled with the news and is more than happy to share her excitement with the public.
"Jeremy and I are excited to be adding a new addition to our family," she told Us Magazine. "Being a teen mom was difficult, but I'm older and in a different place now-married to Jeremy and excited for our family to grow."
Messer was previously married to Corey Simms, who is the father of Messer's daughters, Ali and Aleeah. The couple's relationship and pregnancy played out for audiences on MTV's hit series "Teen Mom 2." Unfortunately, their relationship did not last long, and the couple filed for divorce within one year.
Messer then married Jeremy Calvert one year later and it was rumored that she was pregnant with twins but miscarried. The couple is now incredibly happy to confirm this latest pregnancy; Messer is due this winter, the same time the latest season of "Teen Mom 2" will air on MTV.
Many have criticized Messer for getting pregnant once again, saying that she is still too young to have so many children and should be focused on her twins, one of whom is reportedly developmentally delayed.
"I am 20 and almost everyone I went to high school with have a kid or even 2 or 3 kids! How about getting an education and a stable career then marriage and kids!" posted Us Magazine reader Rose.
"She's 20 with 2 children and another on the way? She's matured? I'll give it a few years and she will regret some of her decisions. Why not spend her energy on the two she has, continue her education and get a[n] associate or bachelor's degree from a university?" added vivasofia.
All the negativity, though, has not dampened Messer's spirits. "Ali and Aleeah can't wait to meet their new brother or sister. We feel incredibly blessed and look forward to this next chapter in our lives," she said.
"Teen Mom 2" premieres its latest season on Nov. 12 on MTV.
