Lena Headey and Husband Embroiled in Custody Battle
Lena Headey, star of HBO's "Game of Thrones," has become ensnared in a custody battle with estranged husband Peter Loughran over their son.
The actress recently took action to block Loughran from taking their 2-year-old son Wylie Elliot to Ireland after deeming the Irish musician "too reckless" to care for the child.
Headey supported her claims with pictures Loughran had allegedly posted to Facebook featuring himself posing with an AK-47 assault rifle, Daily Mail reported.
The actress also claimed that Loughran has serious problems with alcohol, and now a court has sided with Headey. The judge supported Headey's request and forbid Loughran to leave the U.S. with the child, according to TMZ.
Married since 2007, Headey and Loughran split last July when the 39-year-old actress cited "irreconcilable differences" in the Los Angeles divorce filing.
Bermuda-born Headey is best known for her role as Queen Cersei Lannister on "Game of Thrones." The hit HBO series remains one of the most popular and critically acclaimed offerings on television, and has earned numerous awards including the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series and the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series.
"GOT" actor Peter Dinklage, who portrays Queen Cersei's brother Tyrion Lannister, won both an Emmy and Golden Globe Award for Supporting Actor last year.
The medieval fantasy series also stars Emilia Clarke, Michelle Failey, Aidan Gillen, and Richard Madden, among many others.
Ahead of her "GOT" role, Headey appeared in several major films including "The Jungle Book," "Aberdeen," "The Brothers Grimm," "300," and "The Red Baron."
Additionally, Headey is known for playing the starring role as Sarah Connor on Fox's television series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles." The series was a spin-off of James Cameron's "Terminator" film.
Season three of "GOT" premieres on March 31 at 9 p.m. EST on HBO. Watch the trailer for the new season " target="_blank">here.
