LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition Android 4.4.4 Update Now Available
The Android 4.4.4 update for the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition is now available.
It comes together with the previous version and the company is rolling them both out in preparation for the Android "L" version release. They bring some simple additions and bug fixes. Some of which include the new icons and other capabilities.
LG G Pad 8.3 users should receive the update during the next few days. Those who aren't willing to wait can access the update files here along with manual installation instructions.
Android "L" will start rolling out for Google devices in the fall. A preview version is currently available for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7.
The LG G Pad 8.3 was released at the end of last year.
The tablet features a Full HD display that is around an inch bigger than the Nexus 7 and at 273 ppi, its resolution is slightly less impressive than Google and Asus's collaboration. Other features include a Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB or RAM and a 4,600 mAh battery.
The G Pad 8.3 features a sleek design that combines an aluminum backplate with a white polycarbonate. It is only 8.3mm thick and weighs 339 grams, however, it still manages to sport a classy look that shines in comparison to similar devices now available in the market. The tablet also takes microSD cards while the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HDX do not.
The device is available in the Google Play store for $349. That version is the official Google Play edition which means it runs a pure form of the firmware excluding some of the unnecessary apps found on many Android devices.
