LG Nexus 4 India Release Date Set for End of May

The LG Nexus 4 India release date is set for end of May.

The smartphone will retail for Rs. 25,990 and will officially go on sale during the fourth week of May. The 16GB model is already listed on India's popular ecommerce store.

The LG Nexus 4 release was not officially confirmed by Google or LG, however, the fact that Flipcart is already carrying the device points to it officially launching in India. Google should make an official announcement sometime in the near future.

The company recently began offering the Nexus 7 tablet in the Google Play store in India, which is another good indicator of the Nexus 4 arriving in the country sometime soon.

Google is also rumored to be introducing a new version of the LG Nexus 4 with 32GB of memory and full LTE connectivity.

LG was originally expected to release a 5-inch version of the Nexus with some spec updates, but a report from Android Community claims an updated 4-inch version launching. The site took the news with a grain of salt, but feels it's quite plausible since the Nexus 4 is still fairly new having launched in October. The Galaxy Nexus had a similar run launching around that same time in 2011. A new Nexus smartphone will probably arrive in the fall of this year instead.

The current LG Nexus 4 features dormant and disabled 4G LTE radios that have been hacked to work in Canada and with a few select AT&T users. Google could be working with the carriers to enable this LTE functionality while simultaneously introducing the next major build of Android. The rumor points to Verizon releasing this 32GB version with LTE running the latest version of Android.
