Lil Za Arrested Again for Irate Behavior In Jail?
Lil Za has reportedly gotten himself in more trouble after causing an issue in jail after he arrested during a raid of singer Justin Bieber's home Tuesday.
Lil Za, whose real name is Xavier Smith, was arrested after being jailed for drug charges that he picked up during the raid after a phone conversation seemed to go awry, E! Online reports. Bieber's friend was using the phone before he was due to leave the jail before the conversation seemed to intensify which resulted in him becoming irate and allegedly banging the phone receiver against the wall.
A law enforcement source reportedly said that Lil Za proceeded to damage the phone in his holding cell, resulting in a vandalism charge that increased his bail by $50,000. Bieber's friend was finally released on Tuesday night from the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station after he was linked to a white substance found in the singer's home that is thought to be cocaine or a form of MDMA, MTV reports.
Za tweeted after he was released from jail Tuesday evening simply telling over 200,000 followers, "I'm fine."
L.A. County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore held a press conference Tuesday where he told reporters about the investigation that led to Za's arrest. However, he said Bieber was not connected with the drugs found and was cooperative with the search of his home by about a dozen officers.
While Lil Za remains the only person to be arrested in connection with the raid thus far, Whitmore made it clear that the investigation was far from over and that Bieber was not yet exonerated. The law enforcement spokesperson explained why the investigation into eggs thrown at the singer's neighbor's home was being taken so seriously.
"The houses in that neighborhood are of a quality that any damage is going to be extensive. So they had some imported wood and brick and that was significantly damaged," Whitmore said, according to E! News.
