"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 21, 2014. "Part 2" is set for release in Nov. 2015.

Last week, a different casting announcement was made about "Hunger Games;" four-time Academy Award nominee Julianne Moore joined the sequel film.

Moore will portray President Alma Coin, the leader of the rebellion against the Capitol, Lionsgate Studio announced on Friday.

The actress joins costars that include Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, and Lenny Kravitz, among others.

Furthermore, it was previously announced that Philip Seymour Hoffman will make his first appearance in the series as President Snow, bringing even more name recognition to the film that is causing a great deal of excitement.

Meanwhile, "Hunger Games" follows Katniss Everdeen [Lawrence] as she leads the district of Panem in revolt against the corrupt Capitol.

According to the "Hunger Games" book, President Coin [Moore] uses Katniss [Lawrence] for her own political agenda. Coin also uses the hero of the series, Peeta [Hutcherson], despite his failing mental health. The President then decides to hole one final, epic battle of the same hunger games that made Katniss a heroine.
