Lindsey Vonn Vows to be Ready for 2014 Olympics (VIDEO)

Lindsey Vonn has vowed to be ready to race in the 2014 Olympics after a devastating fall tore her ACL, MCL and fractured her tibia. Vonn has been busy recuperating and sharing her recovery with fans in the hope of encouraging them to keep trying when they get knocked down.

"Right now my goal is to be back for 2014 in Sochi," Vonn said on the "Today" show. "Honestly, in a worst-case scenario, if I trained a week before the Games, I'd be fine. I have plenty of time to be ready for Sochi."

Vonn was competing in Austria when her ski got stuck during a landing and sent the Olympian head-over-heels. Medics on the scene immediately responded and air-lifted Vonn to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery to repair the torn ligaments and had a pin put in her knee.

"I initially thought it was going to be worse," Vonn explained. "There was just so much pain that I couldn't quite tell where exactly it was coming from. I knew what was wrong with me within five minutes of getting there [the hospital], so everything happened pretty quick. I didn't think it was going to be the end of my career."

Vonn has been busy tweeting and keeping her fans aware of her progress.

"Success! Surgery went very well yesterday and I'm recovering at home in Vail with my family. I want to sincerely thank everyone for their well wishes these last few days. It's going to be a long and hard road back but I will be back!" she tweeted less than one week after the accident.

"My knee looks…um…not very good…" Vonn tweeted on Feb. 15, along with a picture of her knee swollen and stitched up.

"Check out the screw in my knee! 2 week checkup went well, making progress!" she tweeted on Sunday, along with yet another picture of the injured leg.

"I know I can return with no fear," Vonn told "Today." "That's just who I am. I feel like I have a lot more left to do."
