After one person revealed their own struggle to Jones, she provided the individual with encouragement and a scriptural reference.

"2 Cor. 12:9-10 '... for my power is made perfect in weakness,'" Jones tweeted. "Stay strong friend God has showed up biggest when I was lowest."

Jones recently came after fire after one of her fans decided to dress up as the hurdler for Halloween. However, after Jones made a comment about the difference of the girl's hair not being chemically straightened by a hair relaxer, a number of black people took offense.

"Lolo jones 4 Halloween. I just need a hurdle," the fan tweeted on Halloween.

Jones' response caused her to become a trending topic on Halloween when an overwhelming amount of people chastised her response which was, "..And a relaxer. I haven't rocked curls since h.s :p"

Days after Jones came after fire, she began re-tweeting and responding directly to critics on her Twitter page. After one person directly told Jones "God doesn't like ugly," the Christian athlete spoke about the importance of grace.

"Read the Bible," Jones told the individual. "God loved murders, adulterers, sinners... Not like, he LOVES me regardless of twitter #unconditionalLove #grace."
