Lolo Jones Christianity Questioned After Trayvon Martin Trial Joke
Lolo Jones, Olympic hurdler and bobsledding athlete, recently had her Christian faith questioned after she took to Twitter to joke about a key witness for the Trayvon Martin trial.
Jones, 30, joked about Rachel Jeantel, the teenage witness who was on the phone with slain 17-year-old Trayvon Martin before he was fatally shot by Florida neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman. Jeantel's demeanor on the witness stand prompted Jones to tweet some commentary.
"Rachel Jeantel looked so irritated during the cross-examination that I burned it on DVD and I'm going to sell it as Madea goes to court," Jones tweeted Thursday.

However, a number of people found the tweet less than funny and questioned the Christian athlete's faith.
"@lolojones Sis (you're) a Christian for you to say that about a 19 yr old scared is unacceptable. And ugly," one person tweeted.
Another individual echoed the same sentiments.
"Oh really @lolojones ? Was that suppose to be a good Christian Joke," the person questioned on Twitter.
Jones has indeed been vocal about her Christian faith, which has been evident to fans who pay attention to her Twitter account. Before her qualifying race for the 2012 London Olympics, the hurdler made sure to thank God.
"As I arrive in London for the Olympics, I'm overwhelmed with emotions," she tweeted last year. "Thank you Lord for another chance and for holding me as I waited."
The Christian athlete was seen mouthing Phillipians 4:13 before racing and been vocal about her Christian faith inspiring her to maintain her virginity until marriage. However, the athlete's remarks outside of the sports world have caused some to question the faith that she has made evident.
"Isn't Lolo Jones a Christian? This isn't Christian type of behavior," one person tweeted. "That was so damn rude of her."
