Loretta Lynn Daughter Dies at 64 from Emphysema
Country singer Loretta Lynn's eldest daughter Betty Sue passed away Monday in Tennessee.
Betty Sue was the famed country singer's eldest of six kids. She passed at the age of 64 due to complications with emphysema. The Lynn family released a statement regarding Sue's passing on Monday night.
"The Lynn Family appreciates all your prayers, love, and support of our family's loss. Betty was Loretta's oldest daughter. Betty leaves two daughters Lynn Markworth and Audrey Dyer," the statement read.

A number of fans offered up prayers for Loretta Lynn and her family. Lynn, now 81, remains a performing artist.
"Thoughts and Prayers with all of you! So many happy memories of you, Sydney, Max & Mary, your family during the old Branson days -- and some of the reunions at Hurricane Mills. Betty Sue was very special to many!" one friend, Joyce Dalley, wrote on Facebook.
"Sorry for your loss may god be with you and family," another user, Barbara Vestal, added.
Last year Loretta Lynn published her third autobiography, Honky Tonk Girl: My Life in Lyrics. In 2012 Lynn topped Billboard singles charts with Miranda Lambert & Sheryl Crow on the song "Coal Miner's Daughter." She became the first female country singer in six decades to reach the top of charts. That same year she also performed at the Nelsonville Music Festival in Nelsonville, Ohio.
Betty Sue is the second child that Lynn has lost during her lifetime. In 1984 she lost her son, Jack Benny Lynn, after he drowned ford a river at the family ranch. He was 34 years-old at the time of death. Lynn's career has been prolific. Beginning in Nashville in the 1960's she went on to chart 16 number one hits. She has been a member of The Grand Ole Opry for 50 years, since joining on September 25, 1962.
