Lynne Spears Wins Court Order Against Britney's Former Manager

Lynne Spears has won a court order against her daughter Britney's former manager Sam Lutfi, according to reports this week.

The mother of pop superstar Britney Spears sought to prevent Lufti from describing her as an anti-Semite during their current legal battle.

Out of fear that Lutfi would accuse her of being racist, Spears blocked the former manager from bringing up any references to being anti-Semitic while in court for the upcoming defamation trial, according to TMZ.

The court order is the direct result of Spears having called Lutfi a "Svengali" in her book, "Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World."

Lutfi's lawyers could have brought in expert witnesses to testify that using the word "Svengali"- a name used to describe a person who controls others through deceit- has anti-Semitic roots. The word also has been linked to the "Wandering Jew" character from Christian mythology.

Spears, 57, filed papers asking the court to block Lutfi, who is Jewish, from mentioning the "Svengali" reference, and the judge granted the order, TMZ reported.

The case is currently selecting jury members.

Lutfi filed the lawsuit against Spears in 2009 following the publication of her book, which included descriptions of him. His case lists libel, defamation, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and a breach on contract in the suit.

Now that Lutfi is banned from drawing attention to Spears' use of "Svengali," the former manager will have more trouble proving his former employer's mother is anti-Semitic.

Lutfi is also suing Spears' ex-husband Jamie.

Six years ago, singer and "X-Factor" judge Britney Spears suffered a public meltdown during which Lutfi claimed he had found methamphetamines- commmonly called crystal meth- in her home. Spears was admitted into a psychiatric hospital and lost custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Spears has retaliated against Lutfi's claims, and sources say that her legal team will try to prove that the former manager was only trying to become famous and insolated Spears from her family, ContactMusic.com reported.

Although the hitmaker is still under a court-ordered conservatorship, Spears, 30, appears much more stable and is preparing to marry her longtime partner and former agent Jason Trawick.
