Mary Mary Singer Erica Atkins-Campbell Gives Birth to Baby Girl

Erica Atkins-Campbell, half of the Grammy-award-winning Mary Mary gospel duo, gave birth to a baby girl Tuesday.

Campbell and her husband, Warryn, named their 6-pound, 12-ounce daughter Zaya Monique.

"Feeling so thankful and so blessed to have our sweet Zaya finally make her grand entrance into the world," Campbell said in a statement, as reported by Essence magazine. "God is awesome, our family couldn't be more happy than we are today!"

Mary Mary also took to Twitter to thank their fans for being supportive during Campbell's pregnancy process.

"Thank you everyone for your love and support," the duo tweeted.

Although Campbell and her husband have two children, her fans have witnessed a less than easy pregnancy. Campbell, who was forced to cancel a Christmas tour in early December due to her pregnancy, also went to the emergency room the day after Christmas after experiencing false labor pains.

"I'm accustomed to pushing myself beyond my doctor's recommendations during my pregnancies, but after having seen my sister, Tina, deal with a premature birth as a direct result of an exhaustive pace, I recognize how real this is," she said after canceling her Christmas show.

Campbell was due to give birth in February, but Zaya Monique, born one month early, is said to be healthy.

The singer is said to now be focusing on resting until it is time to promote a new reality show with her sister, which is expected to premiere on WE tv next March.

The show, titled "Mary Mary," will follow the pair while they make music and tour, as well as document their family life.

The show will be filled with "every kind of family and all kinds of drama," according to WE tv. Part of that drama will surround Campbell balancing her family and career, which she says is important.

"If I go out and I'm singing about love to the whole world and my daughter sees me on TV and rolls her eyes because she knows I didn't spend time with her, she wouldn't believe me," said Erica, according to Essence.com. "[My kids] are my first responsibility."

Kim Martin, president and general manager of WE tv, gave a synopsis of what will become a part of the network's Thursday night programming.

"Mary Mary is a great fit for WE tv," Martin said. "Erica and Tina are modern women balancing careers and family and doing it in the spotlight. Their issues are the same as so many women today, and this show will capture the entertaining ups and downs of life that they face on a daily basis."

The new show will begin after the second season of "Braxton Family Values."
