Matt Damon Gay Rumors 'Put Me In A Weird Position'
Matt Damon has finally responded to rumors about his sexuality in an interview about his latest film "Liberace."
Gossip of Damon being gay began after filming 1997's "Good Will Hunting" with longtime friend Ben Affleck, but the actor never addressed them until now.
"I never denied those rumors," Damon explained to Playboy magazine of his silence. "Because I was offended and didn't want to offend my friends who were gay, as if being gay were some kind of [expletive] disease."

"It put me in a weird position in that sense," the 42-year-old actor noted.
Meanwhile, Damon has been married to Luciana Barroso for four years, with whom he shares three daughters as well as a step-daughter.
Continuing to address the rumors of his homosexuality that dogged his early career, Damon said that the attitude toward gay people in Hollywood has changed.
"The fact that Anderson Cooper and Ellen DeGeneres can come out so beautifully and powerfully, and it's a big [expletive] deal that it turns out nobody gives a [expletive]," the actor observed.
Damon will be forced to undergo even more scrutiny over his sexuality after appearing in the upcoming biopic "Behind the Candelabra" as Scott Thorson, the homosexual lover of legendary pianist Valentino Liberace.
Known as simply Liberace, the famous pianist and vocalist was noted for his flamboyance. Damon pointed out that if Liberace lived today, he would be perceived in a much different light.
"If Liberace were alive today, everybody would love his music and nobody would care what he did in his private life," the "Bourne" star claimed.
Damon will appear in HBO's TV movie alongside Michael Douglas, who portrays Liberace. The actor noted that the controversial story "is not for everyone."
"It feels like you're witnessing something really intimate you would normally see with a man and a woman, but instead it's two men," said Damon. "There's stuff I think will make people uncomfortable."
No air date for "Behind the Candelabra" has been announced yet.
Damon will also appear in "Promised Land" alongside John Krasinki, with "Elysium" scheduled for release next year.
