Meizu M2 Release Date, Specs News: Has Potential to Be Best-Seller Android Handset
For people familiar with Chinese manufacturer Meizu, it is not a surprise that the company continues to unveil quality handsets at very affordable prices. Some of the more popular handsets released by the mobile maker include the m1 and m2 Note, the MX4 and the MX5.
Most of these handsets have had great success in the markets where they have become available, notable some countries in Southeast Asia. In spite the growing success Meizu has been experiencing, it seems the company is still eager to deliver handsets from all price ranges, and aimed at the mass market.
Just last week, the Chinese company announced the Meizu M2, which is a dubbed down version of the current midrange phablet of the company, the m2 Note. Based on the report by IB Times, the device packs a 5.0-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, 2GB of RAM, and a 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 processor with quad-core CPU.

Also on board are some notable specs including a 13MP primary camera, 5MP front shooter, a dual-SIM capability, a 16GB built-in memory, Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, and a 2,500mAh battery.
While the specs are pretty decent, these features immediately become quite impressive when we begin to take note of the Meizu M2's announced price tag of only CNY 599, or about $95.
Most devices in this price range either only have 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera, and no expandable memory. To think that the M2 has a 13MP camera with a dual-tone LED flash at the back, 2GB of RAM, and a microSD card slot, the Android-powered device will definitely be a must-buy for smartphone enthusiasts who want to get the latest software running on respectable hardware.
In reports, the Meizu M2 will become available in markets outside of China, potentially India, and most of the Southeast Asian countries.
