Meizu Unveils 'One Piece'-Themed Special Edition M6 Smartphone

Fans of the popular "One Piece" manga and anime will certainly love what a Chinese mobile company has to offer.

To coincide with the 20th anniversary of one of Japan's most popular franchises, Meizu unveiled a themed smartphone patterned after the "One Piece" manga and anime series.

Announced last week, the Meizu M6 Note One Piece special edition features a black front and a red back, drizzled with accents of red and yellow. The color combination easily reminds its users of the colors of "One Piece," especially with the other parts and elements of the smartphone also carrying some of the most recognizable marks of the anime.

PlayfulDroid reported that the themed M6 Note also showcases a "One Piece" user interface (UI). It includes icons, widgets, and wallpapers that feature "One Piece" images and references.

In terms of the device's specs, GSM Arena reported that nothing has changed compared to the regular release of the M6 Note. The smartphone still comes with all the works: a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, 5-megapixel dual rear cameras, and a 16-megapixel selfie snapper. Furthermore, it still runs on the Snapdragon 625 SoC and is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery.

Currently on sale, the Meizu M6 Note One Piece special edition comes with a CNY 1,699 price tag or around $257 for the 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant. For the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage option, the price goes up a bit higher at CNY 2,399 or $363.

Meanwhile, "One Piece" fans in Malaysia are currently being treated to the "Eiichiro Oda presents Hello, ONE PIECE Luffy is here!" exhibition. The event is the first time for the "One Piece" franchise to hold an event in Southeast Asia.

The exhibit features different posters, color illustrations, and manga panels of protagonist Luffy and the rest of his crew. In addition, there is also a virtual reality zone plus a replica of Oda's desk and workspace, as reported OnePiecePodcast.com.
