Michelle Williams Taking Break From Acting for New Role
Michelle Williams has announced that she will take a new leading role outside of acting, after winning a Golden Globe and securing a nomination for a Best Actress Oscar.
While attending the Screen Actor's Guild Awards last night, Michelle Williams announced to E! News that she wanted to take a break from acting in order to focus her attention on her daughter. Williams received an Oscar nominee for Best Actress in "My Week With Marilyn", a role for which she has already received a Golden Globe.
The actress talked about her luck in securing the role. Williams said, "It was hard work, and to be experiencing this at the end of it all is completely unexpected and I'm appreciating every moment."
However, once the moment is gone Williams said she wants to spend more time with her daughter. "I just want to go back to being a mom for a while," Williams told with E! News.
She also shared that she hoped her 6-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose, would be proud of her as an actress one day, although she didn't think the little girl was ready to be exposed to much of her work right now.
"I think it could be a pretty misleading part of my job that I don't want to expose her to yet. She'll get older and there'll be time for it but I think right now I like to keep it separate."
