Microsoft Spring Sale: Get An Xbox One For $299 And Up To 60% Game Discounts
A day after the start of spring, Microsoft brought some good news for consumers who have been planning to upgrade their old-generation console to the latest one. The Microsoft Spring Sale, which started March 22 and lasts until March 28, is offering the Xbox One console at $299. According to a post in Major Nelson, the $50 discount applies to Xbox One console bundles such as the Xbox One "Tom Clancy's The Division" Bundle, the Xbox One 500GB Name Your Game Bundle which allows consumers to choose one of four games to go with the console purchase, and lastly the upcoming Xbox One Special Edition "Quantum Break" Bundle. These will be available in participating retailers in the U.S.
Aside from the discount on these console bundles, there will also be huge discounts on games on the Xbox Store, which will range from 40 to 60%. According to Major Nelson, Xbox Gold Live members get an additional 10% discount above the sale prices. In an effort to convince regular subscribers or those who do not have Gold membership, a $1 upgrade will also be available, allowing them to get one month of Gold membership.
Gold members also lets members access the online multiplayer network where they can play with friends, as well as provides free games through the monthly Games with Gold program.
Notable games are included in the Spring Sale such as "Halo 5," "GTA V," "Gears of War," "Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain," "Call of Duty: Black Ops," and many more. Newly released games such as "Far Cry: Primal" and "Fallout 4" also get discounts. Aside from full games, a Digital Trends report said that games may also come with DLC packs that are already released.
Games that are part of the Backwards Compatibility program will also be getting discounts, according to Digital Trends. A total of 150 offers are said to be included in the sale. The Major Nelson post contains a more complete list of games on sale.
