Microsoft to Unveil Windows Phone Apollo on June 20 at Summit Event
Microsoft sent out invitations to its upcoming Windows Phone Summit event set to take place on June 20.
The company is expected to unveil a future version of Windows Phone OS at the event known as Apollo.
This will be the next major release of smartphone software for Microsoft that is also known as Windows Phone 8.0. It is expected to be the major focus of the event and it's the follow up to Mango or 7.0.

Some confirmed features of Windows Phone Apollo include a multi-core CPU support and backwards compatibility with the current WP 7.5 applications.
Microsoft is also expected to launch its Office Application made for the iPad on Nov. 10, according to a recent report from The Daily.
The site also learned that the development team within Office Mobile finished its work with the project last month. The app is now in the hands of a usability team that is expected to appraise it and utilize the Metro design language for "Metro compliance" and suggest any changes that might need to be made, according to The Daily.
After the team signs off on the Office app, it will arrive at Apple next for the company's approval. That could end up taking a couple of weeks.
Tech site BGR previously reported on one of its sources that saw the Microsoft Office app already running on an iPad and described it as looking identical to a previous leak of the software that The Daily released months ago.
The Daily's description of the app seemed to match up well with BGR's source's claim.
It said that the app's user interface is similar to the current OneNote app, but that it has hints of Metro, the new design language that can also be found in Windows Phone and will appear in Windows 8. In the app, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files can be created and edited locally and online.
