Miley Cyrus' Red Carpet Look Stuns Critics: 'Wrecking Ball' Singer Steals the Show (PHOTOS)
Miley Cyrus' red carpet look at The Fashion Group's 30th Annual Night of Stars Gala pleasantly surprised onlookers for possibly the first time in months Tuesday. The "Wrecking Ball" singer has come to award shows in shocking attire before, but this time she opted for a much more glamorous dress for the high fashion evening.
Miley Cyrus' red carpet dress was a floor-length shimmering green Marc Jacobs piece. The sequined halter dress also was completely backless, and spaghetti strings fastened it around her neck. The pop star diva also had surprisingly few accessories besides some Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and opted for matching aquamarine eye shadow and red nail polish.

Cyrus was there to present the Superstar Award to Marc Jacobs and honored him by wearing one of his dresses, which she paired with Yves Saint Laurent shoes. The last time Cyrus looked so demure was at the Met Costume Gala in May.
Cyrus' appearances in chains, brass knuckles, a nude-colored bikini, a fishnet beanie and other wild outfits had been criticized in the past, but this time, critics had nothing but compliments for the singer.
"Miley Cyrus … walked the red carpet among the many fancy people and … looked fancy herself!" TheGloss.com wrote.
Global Grind thought Cyrus "stole the show" in her first appearance since her album Bangerz was released, and USA Today was seemingly more impressed with what Cyrus didn't do than what she did.
"Your tongue wasn't sticking out of your head, you didn't have those creepy Jar Jar Binks hair knots, and you actually looked really classy and happy," Arianne Thompson said in the site's video. "We like you. We really like you."
Cyrus' next major appearance will most likely be the 2013 MTV EMAs Nov. 10 in Amsterdam alongside Robin Thicke. Though there most likely won't be any more twerking happening, it's anyone's guess as to how she'll be dressed.
