Moldy Image of 'Jesus' in Shower Helping Texas Woman Recover From HIV?
A family in Texas claims that an image they believe resembles Jesus has appeared as a piece of mold in their bathroom – and that it is helping one of them recover from HIV.
The supposed image of Christ appears in the family's shower, and they are convinced that there is real meaning behind what they see.
"People say your house is blessed," said Chyanna Richards, one of the residents. "I see the head, the hair, a cloak."
"Maybe it means something. Maybe look into yourself and see if you need to change something in your life," she told ABC News.
According to news reports, one unidentified woman who lives in the home with the family who has HIV has been "doing better" ever since the Jesus image was recognized in the shower a few months ago.
One of the men who live in the house, located in Splendora, Texas, was in prison when the mold first formed – and he believes it to be a sign.
"He's just watching over us to make sure nothing wrong happens or I get in trouble and go back," said Thomas George.
George explained that he had gotten inspired by the image to do better in life.
When the image was shown to neighbors, they generally agreed that they could see something of Christ's likeness in the moldy formation.
"Jesus. But it kinda looks like me!" said Michael Bearden, one of the neighbors. "One of God's mysteries," he added.
Video and images of the "moldy Jesus" are available on the KTRK-TV website.
