Mother Confesses to Throwing Daughter in Trash

An Ohio woman has confessed to tossing out her child's dead body into the trash and is facing serious charges.

India Parker, a 35-year-old from Cleveland, is being held on $10,000 bond after the horrific confession.

Although 10-year-old Kaliyah Parker is believed to have gone missing in 2006, it was only recently that a family friend reported the matter to police.

Friends and neighbors confirmed they had not seen Kaliyah in more than five years, but no one bothered to report her disappearance until Monday according to Mail Online.

An unnamed man, believed to be the father of one of Parker's other children, became suspicious after Kaliyah simply vanished with little explanation. Parker is believed to have told Kailyah's father that the child died after being crushed to death by a book case.

Police are investigating because despite what the child's mother is saying because there are no hospital records or death certificate to validate her claims.

Parker has had previous run-ins with social workers, and reportedly even had a child removed from her custody in one instance. The woman was reported to social services in 2000 after she was accused of child endangerment.

Police confirmed that an investigation is underway, although little information is available at this time.

"The Cleveland Division of Police received information from the Cuyahoga County Department of Child and Family Services on Monday about a missing ten-year-old," Sgt. Sammy Morris of the Cleveland Police Department told Fox 8 news.

"This is an open investigation. We are asking anyone with any information to call the Cleveland Homicide Unit," Morris added.

Police have confirmed that Parker will remain in custody until the investigation is complete.
