Motorola X Phone Release Event Tickets Offered On Company's Twitter

Tickets for the Motorola release event were offered yesterday to some lucky New Yorkers who were following the company's Twitter account.

Motorola posted images of locations around the City of New York where the event is set to take place. They stated that these will be the places where free tickets will be found. They probably unavailable at this point, but the company could end up offering more before this event happens later on today. There is a special hash tag for the promo #MeetMotoX.

The Moto X Phone release date seems to be set for August in international markets.

The device could launch in countries such as Brazil next month, according to a recent Twitter post by Motorola Brazil. An official date and other details were not mentioned, but August was thrown out there as the general time it will hit the market.

Canada will be offering the smartphone sometime soon as there was leaked Rogers video showing the device off. Teasers have also appeared on both the Brazilian and Argentinean Motorola sites that feature a black background with white text.

Taylor Wimberly recently spilled the beans on the Moto X's Magic Glass display that features a Gorilla Glass sheet being molded to a special polymer. This results in a gap-free surface that wraps around the edges of the device. The phone will be made from laminated aluminum providing it with a light weight and high strength design. It is also expected to be customizable as users will be able to choose between a variety of materials for the Moto X including plastic, metal, wood, and carbon fiber.

Other specifications rumored for the device include a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm S4 Processor with Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB RAM, a 4.7-inch HD display with 720x1184 resolution, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 4.2.2, JellyBean, 16GB of internal memory, NFC, and no microSD support.
