Music Executive John Atterberry Dies in Random Hollywood Shooting
Music executive, John Atterberry, who worked with artists like Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson and the Spice Girls, has died after being shot in Los Angeles on Friday.
Atterberry, 40, was shot in a random attack on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood on Friday, according to reports.
He was shot at close range by a gunman identified as Tyler Brehm. Brehm, 26, opened fire on pedestrians and vehicles on Friday, before being gunned down by an off-duty police officer.

Atterberry, who was a senior partner and chief financial officer for an event promotions company called the GridLock group, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital where he remained over the weekend. He was the only person fatally injured, as Brehm fired more than 20 shots into a Hollywood intersection.
According to reports, two other people suffered injuries in the attack, which was caught on amateur home video. One man suffered an injury to his left thigh from a bullet, while another suffered minor cuts from broken glass.
He died Monday evening just before 5 p.m., according to Cedars-Sinai spokeswoman Simi Singer. He suffered gunshot wounds to the face and upper body, from a .40-caliber handgun.
As a former vice president for Death Row Records at the height of its success, Atterberry worked with hip-hop icons Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg.
Atterberry leaves behind a girlfriend named Sophia Holguin.
She told ABC News that he was an awesome person and wonderful friend to have.
“He is just a wonderful, wonderful individual,” Holguin said. “He is an awesome friend to have. He is an awesome person to have in your life.”
His sister, Cynthia Atterberry, is confused about why someone would spark this sort of deadly violence, according to the L.A. Times.
“I do not understand now nor will I ever why such a senseless act of violence was inflicted upon such a GOD-fearing, kind, compassionate, loving individual,” she posted on her Facebook page after Atterberry died on Monday.
