NBA Finals 2012 Schedule: Game 3 OKC Thunder vs. Miami Heat Will Turn On a Big Play
The NBA Finals 2012 have seen some fantastic games so far, and the series is evenly balanced at 1-1. Game 3 will take place on Sunday night and sees the series switch to Miami.
Miami Heat will be looking to continue momentum following their win in Game 2. In both of the opening two games the Heat have begun well and been clearly out in front over the first halves. However, also in both the Thunder have fired back; in Game 1 Miami fell away and Thunder took a comfortable win, and in Game 2 the same almost happened to the Heat, but they managed to just hold off a fierce fight back from Oklahoma.
Game 3 will very much be Dwayne Wade and LeBron James facing up against Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, and whichever pair is able to dominate will likely take their team to victory.
Both sides are shooting about 47 percent from the field, which reveals just how closely matched the teams are. It could go down to a battle for the glass to win this series. In Game 1 the Thunder scored 43 rebound points compared to the Heat's 35.
The Thunder shot 51.9 percent from the field in Game 1 and the points were spread around a number of players with Nick Collison scoring eight, Thabo Sefolosha nine, Serge Ibaka 10, Russell Westbrook 27 and Kevin Durant 36.
In Game 2 the Heat retook the initiative and got 40 rebound points compared to the Thunder's 36, making the 4-point victory gap in the 100-96 win.
Unless one of Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant has an amazing game, or a complete disaster of a game, then the big four could potentially cancel one another out. That would mean the role players would have to step forward and decide the game. But with the match up being so close the difference between a win or a loss could be down to a few individual errors, or a few special moments from one or two players.
Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat will tip off at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday June 17.
