'NCIS: LA' Spoilers: Kensi's Rescue Leaves Her Changed (VIDEO)
"NCIS: LA" fans will be surprised by Kensi Blye's return from Afghanistan and what comes after. The character, played by Daniela Ruah, will return home shaken after being held captive by the Taliban after a mission to assassinate a traitor, also her former fiancé.
Kensi's teammates, Deeks, Sam and Callen, are sent to rescue her and bring her back home. Of course, there are serious psychological ramifications for everyone, but especially Kensi. Hetty is "not entirely confident about Kensi's psychological and emotional abilities when she first comes out," Ruah told TV Guide. "So we'll see how that pans out."
"I think this is probably my favorite episode that we've shot," Ruah added. "It's sort of like a movie. The action's incredible. I think everybody was on their game, when it came to performances. There's some really intense scenes … It's the team fighting for one of their won, which always makes for a good episode. There's a lot at stake."
Of course, there is always the question of Kensi's blossoming relationship with Deeks. Seeing former fiancé Jack, the traitor, sets off a lot of questions in Kensi's own mind and leaves her reeling. Should she continue her relationship with Deeks? Or will she be stuck focusing on Jack and what went wrong in their relationship?
"I don't think anybody understands them [Kensi and Deeks] better than they understand each other – but that could also make for a wonderful friendship," Ruah said. "It doesn't necessarily mean that they'll become a couple. I think they have to set their priorities straight, before anything could ever happen. What's more important: their job or their future together? I'm actually indecisive of where I would like them to go."
"NCIS: LA" has enjoyed great success as a spin-off of the original "NCIS" franchise. It stars Chris O'Donnell, LL Cool J and Eric Christian Olsen, along with Linda Hunt. It airs Tuesday nights on CBS.
