Nexus 6 Rumors: LG Denies Working on the Next-Gen Model
LG claims that it has no plans to produce the next-gen Nexus 6 smartphone at this time.
Ken Hong, the director of communications for the handset manufacturer says LG is not making the new Nexus device, "at least not yet."
"I know at least not yet. Normally we were informed," said Ken Hong in a recent interview. "That can mean two things. Either I got ignored, or we simply won't be making [the Nexus 6]. If you can develop a Google phone that gives credibility. But money you earn is not easy, and you become too dependent on Google."

Hong also discussed some of the manufacturing issues with the Nexus 4 and 5 as supplies for both handsets were scare during their initial launches.
"Google determines how many phones are to be made, and we do that. If it stated that LG produces too few Nexus phones, the media then is simply incorrect. We get asked, we deliver."
He claims Google determines how many units of a Nexus device should be produced and that they should be held accountable for shortages instead of the manufacturer.
Google could end up rebranding the entire line as it is rumored to be switching over to the Android Silver program for its flagship smartphone.
Google is currently working to create this Android Silver program, which involves manufacturers and wireless carriers getting paid to produce and sell high-end devices that closely adhere to the company's specifications. This new deal will replace the existence of the Nexus smartphone line and usher in a new era of Android.
The Silver program will have certain restrictions including the limiting the number of non-Google apps that can come pre-installed on devices that fall under this category.
