Nick Cannon Leaves Hospital After Battle with Mild Kidney Failure
Nick Cannon, after suffering a bout with mild kidney failure, has been released from his stay at a Los Angeles hospital.
The 31-year old actor/musician fell ill and was then hospitalized in an Aspen, Colorado hospital last Wednesday. Although it had been reported that Nick was stricken with mild kidney failure, some say he was suffering from the flu before entering the hospital. Nick Cannon’s case of the flu may have contributed to problems with his kidneys.
Although Cannon had not been as vocal about his medical condition, he alerted fans to his relocation from a Colorado hospital to Los Angeles. He also thanked fans for their support.
"Currently being [transferred] to a hospital in LA. Thank you all for all your love, prayers and concern," he tweeted. "You know me...I will be a'ight."
Mariah Carey took to Twitter to announce Nick Cannon’s sickness last Wednesday. She also tweeted a photo of herself and Nick lying together in a hospital bed. "This is us in the hospital - role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are," she tweeted.
"As always, he's in good spirits considering the situation," Carey later told PEOPLE magazine. "We are hopeful that he'll be 100 percent as soon as possible. We really appreciate everybody's love and support."
After breaking the news, Carey also initially called on fans to pray for her husband during the troubled times.
Carey posted this message: "Please pray for Nick as he’s fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. We’re trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful."
Facebook followers of Nick Cannon proceeded to offer their prayers to him soon after the news broke. "Nick, remember the promises of the bible and proclaim your healing and restoration in the Name of Jesus. He is always willingly to move on your behalf, just use His faith and the name and watch His power move and heal. Father in Jesus' name I sent your word of healing to Nick Cannon and command his kidneys to function in accordance to Your Word! Amen! And so be it done!" Facebook user Robert Ortiz Agosto posted.
Russell Simmons tweeted, "Praying for my man Nick Cannon and Mariah."
Mariah Carey made sure to go on Twitter to announce Nick Cannon’s leave from his hospital stay. "Daddy Nick is getting [better], we're all home together taking care of each other, excited about the new year!," Carey wrote today on Twitter.
