Oprah Responds to Jenny McCarthy: ' Wishing Only Good Fortune'
Oprah Winfrey smoothed over any tension between herself and Jenny McCarthy following an interview with "The View" host on Tuesday.
McCarthy, 41, said she was "terrified" of Winfrey because she had left the media mogul network, OWN, years ago.
The television personality even went on to say reveal she had been avoiding Winfrey while speaking to Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live."
"I'm sure there's probably a lot of people on her s--t list," the former model told Cohen of Winfrey. "I'm probably number four."
However, 59-year-old "Lee Daniel's The Butler Star" said McCarthy had nothing to worry about when it came to their friendship.
"@JennyMcCarthy don't have a s-t list," Winfrey posted to Twitter. "If I did you'd never be on it. Wishing you only good fortune, love and light and watching @theview."
Meanwhile, McCarthy made her debut on "The View" last month after replacing departing co-host Joy Behar.
"I'm beyond thrilled," said the comedian-actress in a statement. "I look forward to helping make hot topics a little bit hotter, and showing my mom that my interrupting skills have finally paid off."
In order to take the position on "The View," McCarthy had to part ways with her eponymous show on VH1. Since her debut, rumors have sprouted that McCarthy remains unpopular with viewers, but ABC said there was "no truth" in those reports.
Moreover, "The View" creator Barbara Walters welcomed McCarthy to the show with confidence and open arms.
"Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor," the 83-year-old started in a statement, according to Entertainment Weekly. "She can be serious and outrageous. She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view. Jenny will be a great addition to the show as we usher in an exciting new chapter of 'The View.'"
