People's Court Missing Mom Requested Restraining Order Against Ex
The woman who went missing after the airing of the “People’s Court” last Thursday requested a restraining order against her ex-fiancé Dale Smith in 2009.
Michelle Parker, 32, filed a case for domestic violence against Dale Smith after what Parker claims was extremely aggressive behavior.
“He smashed the passenger side window in my SUV" and "took car seats out and threw them in the road,” said Parker, according to court documents.
She also claimed that Smith verbally threatened her as well yelling, “Your day is coming.” Social media was even used to intimidate Parker. Smith’s Facebook page reads that while in the United States Marine Corps, he studied "Death, Destruction, Terror and Mayhem."
The Orange County judge that oversaw the case denied the request for a restraining order due to lack of evidence. However, it is does illuminate possibilities that police have not eliminated.
"There is no question they are going to focus on Smith," said ABC News legal analyst Dan Abrams. "They need to rule him out first, before they do anything else."
"If this was a random crime, which it could have been, it would be one heck of a coincidence that she appears on national television in a contentious battle," Abrams said. "It doesn't necessarily mean Smith was involved. Could have been anyone who saw it."
The incident that led to the appearance on the television show was a dispute over a $5,000 engagement ring that was lost on a hotel balcony. Parker was reportedly in an inebriated state.
The show was taped over the summer, but it aired last week. Parker’s mom, Yvonne Stewart, said her daughter was embarrassed and humiliated during the show.
"It was the most humiliating experience of my life. I don't even ever want to see it. I wish I had never gone,” Parker reportedly said.
Judge Marilyn Milian ruled that they both were responsible for the ring and ordered Parker to pay $2,500 to Smith.
She has been missing since the air showed on Thursday and was last seen dropping of her twin girls at Smith’s house.
