People's Most Beautiful Woman is Beyonce
People magazine has revealed its annual list of the world's most beautiful people on Wednesday, placing Beyonce at the top.
The magazine's editor, Alexis Chiu, described why People selected the 30-year-old singer as World's Most Beautiful Woman while appearing on "The Today Show."
Chiu explained that Beyonce is "flawless, she's gorgeous, she's at the top of her game career-wise, she's this music icon at 30 … and on top of it she has this glow going on … She's a new mom."
The "Love On Top" singer is married to rap superstar Jay-Z, also known as Shawn Carter, and just four months ago gave birth to their first child, daughter Blue Ivy.
Upon being named 2012's Most Beautiful Woman, Beyonce spoke with People magazine about what life is like since expanding her family.
"I feel more beautiful than I've ever felt because I've given birth," said the Grammy Award-winning singer. "I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth."
Beyonce's pregnancy was a source of constant speculation in the media, and Blue Ivy's birth created even more media firestorms. The Carter family continues to capture the public's attention as news sources tirelessly cover them.
"The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy," Beyonce continued during her interview. "The word 'love' means something completely different now."
The interview with Beyonce will appear in month's issue of People magazine, which hits newsstands Apr. 27. The singer will return to the stage in Atlantic City, New Jersey next month for her first post-baby concert.
Michelle Obama, Jennifer Hudson, Kristen Wiig, Jennifer Lawrence, and several others were also among People's Most Beautiful women this year.
Last year, Jennifer Lopez was named at the top of People's list.
Women who have held the Most Beautiful title in the past include Julia Roberts, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, and Angelina Jolie, among many others.
