Peyton Manning Out Until December?
Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback, may not be back on the football field until at least December.
The QB is recovering from a Sept 8 neck surgery. After the Colts lost to the Steelers on Sunday, making the team 0-3, many questioned Manning’s return.
After a Monday meeting with the Colts, Wish TV reported that the QB would not be scheduled to practice with his team until at least December, which may cause him to miss the season.
However Jim Isray, Colts’ owner, said Manning will remain active and it has yet to be seen when the QB would return to the football field.
"I didn't say Peyton out for a season FOR SURE,” Isray tweeted. “Keeping him on ActiveRoster n taking it month by month/Outside chance of return n December possible.”
Manning has not been able to play in any game during the normal season, after starting for 227 consecutively for his team. Manning's last surgery gave the involved the removal of soft disk tissue in the vertebrae and a bone graft, according to ESPN reports.
The Colts released an official statement about the star QB’s status on the team.
"There has been no change in Peyton Manning’s status since our last statement on September 8th," the Colts said in a statement. "He is in the process of healing and rehabbing from his recent surgery. The team will inform everyone when that status changes."
Some fans of the team and Peyton admitted that it may be the end of the line for the quarterback, and already had new talent in mind for the team.
"I can't wait until next year when the Colts draft Andrew Luck and then trade Peyton Manning to the #Vikings," one person tweeted.
Another seemed to think the Colts would be lost without Manning.
"Can Peyton Manning win MVP being out for the reason,”another twitter user wrote. “It's clear he is the most valuable player on his team, they are terrible without him."
Some simply wished the team good luck and some advice.
"Like most of you, I enjoy seeing Peyton Manning do work,” the person wrote on Twitter. “But, considering the neck + Team, you've got to shut it down. Prep for next year."
