Apart from the new Gen 3 Pokemon, Trainers will also get to enjoy some special treats such as double Candy rewards for "catching, hatching and transferring Pokémon," Buddy Pokemon finding Candy two times faster, and Mimikyu's Disguise hat becoming free during the event's duration.

In addition, a Special Halloween Pikachu wearing a witch's hat will also be available, as well as special in-game boxes that carry Raid Pass and Super Incubator.

According to a Polygon report, the Ghost-type Pokemon first appeared on the "Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire" game from 2002. Furthermore, players will also encounter non-Ghost type Pokemon such as Cubone, Misdreavus, and Gengar, who all sport spooky appearances. These Pokemon will start to appear gradually starting in December, Niantic said.

Prior to event's official announcement, speculations of Gen 3 Pokemon appearing started to swirl online, thanks to a leaked wallpaper artwork. Furthermore, Gamespot also reported that the iOS App Store inadvertently posted an image of the event showcasing the four Ghost-type Pokemon.

Additionally, BGR reported that the most recent "Pokemon GO" update included different sound files featuring the cries of the Gen 3 Pokemon. A new badge with the title "BADGE_POKEDEX_ENTRIES_GEN3" also surfaced, which further strengthened the speculations.
