'Pokemon GO' News: Generation 3 Pokemon Characters Arrive in the Game

After all the rumors and speculations, it is now confirmed that "Pokemon GO's" Halloween Event will, indeed, usher in the next batch of Pokemon characters, also known as the Generation 3 Pokemon.

Upon announcing that it is holding another "Pokemon GO" Halloween event this year, rumors about Niantic possibly introducing a new batch of Pokemon characters have become louder. With the Generation 2 Pokemon coming into the game last January or just six months after the game was launched, gaming pundits opined that it was high time for the game to usher Generation 3 Pokemon into "Pokemon GO" via its Halloween event.

In a recent statement, Niantic announced that its Halloween event already started last October 20 and will go on until November 2. Additionally, the company has also confirmed that the event will, indeed, usher in Generation 3 Pokemon characters into the game beginning its Halloween event.

"Players will begin to see these mysterious Pokémon from the Hoenn region out in the wild, while also encountering an increased number of spooky Pokémon such as Gastly, Cubone, Misdreavus, Houndour, and more," Niantic said in a statement.

According to reports, though, many "Pokemon GO" players have not been aware that the Halloween event has introduced a Shiny variant in the game, including that of Sableye, a Generation 3 Pokemon that was recently introduced to the game. Reportedly, Sableye can be evolved into its Shiny variant from 10 km eggs.

While Niantic has not confirmed this yet, it is now suspected that there can be other variants of "Pokemon GO" characters that can be hatched from eggs as well.

"We hope Trainers enjoy this special Halloween treat! Look forward to the arrival of the rest of the Pokémon first seen in the Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire video games, starting gradually as early as December," Niantic said.
